Overview

Initial Rumours - We didn't all guess the modules

Design going out all metal and glass - quality look and feel

You may think, well I've heard that before.... based on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and its new revolution design in 2015, but this would bring LG right back in it, with a solid structure and one that looks the part, those extra tech beauties that they through in of their own will add to the fireworks as it is announced.

Will this include a LG G5 curved screen

Sounds all so very doubtful at the moment, with probably the Flex concentrating more on the bendy screen element of the design, look and feel. The LG G5 release no doubt will bring us one of the top handsets of 2016, just like the G5 was in 2015.

Battery power pack enables replacement batteries

Probably the most talked about a rumour about the G5 at the moment is this. Since the release of the first smartphones and even more so recently with the amount of stuff you can do on them, the battery power has been an issue. Many top brands have a fixed in battery pack making the old way of recharging an old battery whilst yours is running out and then replacing very hard to do. If we see this take shape it will be an added bonus o the G5 compared to the others that it is competing with.

We used to have the back covers we could take off and that would reveal the li-ion battery pack say there, but with the rumours of it's existence also comes a rumour of this being put in with style, incorporated into a modern design whereby the battery actual slides out of the bottom of the body.... lets wait and see!

News and information available in the UK

Head to Head The New LG G5 V G4

We will take a look at the differences between to the previous versions.

  • Size - Regards the both handsets dimensions, they are pretty close yet the G5 is taller by around only the 1mm but the width and depth are over 2mm thinner so a massive reduction where LG, yet strangely enough the new handset is heavier by around 4g. The weight aspect could be gained by the new metal body though, replacing the plastic of the G4 and also the personal opinion of the not so great leather back.
  • Display - It's slightly uncommon nowadays for one of the top manufacturers to launch a new flagship but with a smaller screen than it's predecessor, the G4 is actually .2 inches bigger standing at 5.5 inches, measured diagonally as usual.
  • Camera - Both appear at a glance to have the same camera and video specs wth 16 Megapixels for the main camera and 8 Megapixels for the front and both being able to shoot video at 4K
  • Processor - The new smartphone seems to have had n upgrade in the speed department with a jump in the chip to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 from the 808 and the processor Quad-core, 2200 MHz from a Hexa-core, 1800 MHz. This is a noticeable jump in specs terms but how noticeable it will be to the human eye is another thing.
  • Upgrading and modules - So how does this new modular thing work then. At the bottom of the phone, you can slide out, this will unlock the original modular and the battery, you then replace that modular with your upgrade and slot the battery into your new one. The options are endless, I have no doubt that there will be lots of funky new ideas, currently, LG has released 2.

    intuitive Modular Feature

Are you wondering what the new modular connection is all about? IT basically opens up the ability to add so much to your phone as what you think is personally required, of course, it has to be available, yet currently there isn't much but no doubt that will change.

    What's available now

Lg launched the G5 with a limited amount of modular options including extended battery and extra camera connection, yet the options that no doubt will arrive either through 3rd parties or anoriginal LG products may catch the eye further than those available right now.

Keep your eyes peeled for any more exciting news.

    Cam Plus

The first of the modular systems sees the camera boosted by a battery pack that will enhance to 4000 mah giving around 15% more battery life, external camera options, but will the extra large battery come to the extra large rear bump.

    Speaker Upgrade

The second module brains a speaker upgrade, slot it in and you have a route to a Bang & Olufsen sound system with a dedicated hole to slot your headphones straight into that system.
